Search Engine Optimization Case Study

This is a Search Engine Optimization effort for Mach 5 Aviation located at the Auburn Municipal Airport in Auburn, CA. Mach 5 Aviation was founded in late 2008 and is not the only Flight School at the Auburn Airport; but, they were new to getting their message out, as well as reaching a few miles down the hill to serve the Sacramento market.

When we first took on their Website Development project in early 2009, Mach 5 of course had absolutely no web presence at all for their primary targeted search term of "Auburn Flight School" - which entered a new twist. Searching "Auburn" in Google reveals an Auburn, New York, an Auburn, Washington, an Auburn Alabama, an Auburn University, as well as our Auburn, California. As a result of our sound Website Development efforts, based on our Search Engine Optimization standards, here is where Mach 5 Aviation now appears for their primary targeted search for "Auburn Flight School" - the client's micro-level target keywords.

So, as you can see, Mach 5 Aviation Search Engine Optimization efforts took them from non-existent to a #7 listing on Google page-1 organic search results. But remember, this casts a wider net where Mach 5 is found WITHOUT someone using a geographical criteria. In the example below, we added the state designator to the search query as "Auburn Flight School CA" - now adding the "CA" state designator.

So, as you can see, our Search Engine Optimization efforts took Mach 5 from non-existent on Google for "Auburn Flight School CA" to a #3 listing on page-1. The #1 listing is for a flight school at the same airport that has been around for longer and had an existing web presence. However, notice that we had to use the "CA" state designator for them to appear, where our Search Engine Optimization efforts had Mach 5 show in organic search results for the base "Auburn Flight School" query.

When we began our Search Engine Optimization efforts for their Website Development project, Mach 5 indicated that they serve clients from the Sacramento market area who like the short drive up the hill to attend Flight School in Auburn. So we extended our scope to a mid-level target of "Sacramento Flight School" and have achieved the following results.

So, as you can see, our Search Engine Optimization efforts took them from non-existent on Google for "Sacramento Flight School" to a #7 listing on page-1 - below several long-standing, and even one National Flight School with an operation at another Sacramento Airport. 2. Micro Level "Auburn Flight School" - #7 out of 91,800 possible results
